FAQ

Life & long-term care: common questions

How much life insurance do I need?

Start with what the people who depend on you would need to pay: the mortgage or rent, debts, final expenses, and the income they would lose. Subtract savings and any coverage you already have. Our free life insurance calculator walks through the numbers, and we can go over the result with you.

Should I buy term or permanent life insurance?

Term life covers a set number of years at a lower price, which suits a mortgage or raising children. Permanent life stays in force for life and builds cash value, which suits final expenses, leaving money to family, or estate planning. Many families use a mix.

Does Medicare pay for long-term care?

Medicare does not pay for ongoing custodial care, such as help with bathing, dressing or eating at home, in assisted living or in a nursing home. It covers only limited skilled care after a qualifying hospital stay. Long-term care insurance, hybrid life and long-term care policies, and short-term care plans are ways to plan for that cost.

Who on the Rise Up Benefits Group team helps with life insurance?

Jacob Otero is the agency's life insurance agent, and Viola Lucero, CLTC, helps with long-term care and retirement income. You can book with either through the office.

What does it cost to work with Rise Up Benefits Group on life insurance and long-term care?

Nothing. Insurance companies pay agents a commission when a policy is issued, and that is already built into the price whether you use an agent or not.

Buying the same plan on your own does not make it cheaper. It just means nobody checked your doctors and prescriptions first, and nobody picks up the phone when you have a question in March.

Does Rise Up Benefits Group offer every plan for life insurance and long-term care?

No agency does. Rise Up Benefits Group is independent and works with major insurance companies, so we compare across the ones we represent rather than selling one company's plans.

How do I get started with life insurance and long-term care?

Call (480) 300-5776, send a message through the contact page, or come to a free workshop. There is nothing to sign to have a conversation.

Bring your prescription list and your doctors' names, and the comparison can be a real one rather than a generic one.

What happens after I enroll?
