FAQ

Medicare: common questions

When can I change my Medicare plan for 2027?

The Medicare Annual Enrollment Period runs October 15 to December 7, 2026. Changes you make then take effect January 1, 2027. If you are in a Medicare Advantage plan, you also get one more change between January 1 and March 31.

If you are turning 65 or leaving work coverage, your own enrollment window applies instead. Call us and we will work out your dates with you.

What is the difference between Medicare Advantage and a Medicare Supplement?

A Medicare Advantage plan replaces how Original Medicare pays your claims, usually with a network, copays and a yearly out-of-pocket limit, and often includes drug coverage. A Medicare Supplement (Medigap) works alongside Original Medicare to pay the costs it leaves behind, and you add a separate Part D plan for prescriptions.

Which one fits depends on your doctors, your prescriptions, how you travel and your budget. That is the comparison we do with you.

Can you help with Medicare in my state?

Often, yes. Viola is licensed in 29 states plus DC. We meet in person at the Chandler, AZ office, and by phone or video everywhere else. Call (480) 300-5776 and ask about your state.

What does it cost to work with Rise Up Benefits Group on Medicare?

Nothing. Insurance companies pay agents a commission when a policy is issued, and that is already built into the price whether you use an agent or not.

Buying the same plan on your own does not make it cheaper. It just means nobody checked your doctors and prescriptions first, and nobody picks up the phone when you have a question in March.

Does Rise Up Benefits Group offer every plan for Medicare?

No agency does. Rise Up Benefits Group is independent and works with major insurance companies, so we compare across the ones we represent rather than selling one company's plans.

We do not offer every plan available in your area. Currently we represent 34 organizations which offer 64 products in your area. Please contact Medicare.gov or 1-800-MEDICARE to get information on all of your options.

Who will help me with Medicare?

Viola Lucero, CLTC, founder of Rise Up Benefits Group, or a licensed member of her team. Viola focuses on education, so you know what you have, how to use it, and what it covers.

How do I get started with Medicare?

Call (480) 300-5776, send a message through the contact page, or come to a free workshop. There is nothing to sign to have a conversation.

Bring your prescription list and your doctors' names, and the comparison can be a real one rather than a generic one.

What happens after I enroll?

We stay your agent. We review your coverage with you every year as plans change, and you can call us for help with claims, billing or questions at any time.

We do not offer every plan available in your area. Currently we represent 34 organizations which offer 64 products in your area. Please contact Medicare.gov or 1-800-MEDICARE to get information on all of your options.

We speak insurance, so you don't have to.
