Why P&C agents refer clients to Rise Up Benefits Group

You protect their house, cars and business. We handle the Medicare and health questions you would rather not.

Your book stays yours

Rise Up Benefits Group works on Medicare, health, life, long-term care and retirement coverage. We do not write home, auto, renters, umbrella or commercial policies, so there is no overlap with what you sell.

No cost, no referral fee

Our help costs nothing. Agents are paid by the insurance company the person chooses, so there is no fee for you, no fee for them and no referral payment in either direction.

How we are paid →

Help that continues after enrollment

People keep us after they sign up. We help with claims and billing problems, review plans and prescriptions every Annual Enrollment Period, and check for a lower-cost plan when a Medigap company raises rates.

Questions you will hear

Medicare questions your clients will ask you

The short version of each, and where to send them to go deeper.

Turning 65

The first chance to sign up is a seven-month window: the three months before the 65th birthday month, that month, and the three months after. Missing it without other qualifying coverage can mean a Part B penalty of 10% for each full 12 months without Part B, for as long as they have it.

Turning 65 checklist →

Retiring from a job with health coverage

Someone covered through current work can usually delay Part B. When the job or the coverage ends, they have eight months to sign up. COBRA does not count as coverage from current work for this rule, which catches many people out.

Working past 65 and Medicare →

Medigap or Medicare Advantage

The decision clients ask about most. Medigap pairs with Original Medicare and a separate drug plan; Medicare Advantage bundles coverage through a private plan with a network. Switching to Medigap later can mean health questions, so the first choice deserves care.

Medicare Advantage vs Supplement →

What Medicare costs in 2026

The standard Part B premium is $202.90 a month in 2026, with a $283 yearly deductible. Higher earners pay more. Plan premiums come on top, so the total depends on the coverage they choose.

Clients under 65 who lose work coverage

A client who retires early, or whose spouse goes on Medicare, may need individual health insurance. Losing job-based coverage opens a special enrollment window for a Marketplace plan, and we help with that too.

Questions P&C agents ask us

Will Rise Up Benefits Group try to write my client’s home or auto insurance?

No. We do not sell home, auto, renters, umbrella or commercial insurance. Our work with your client is Medicare and health coverage, and their property and casualty policies stay with you.

Does it cost my client anything to work with Rise Up Benefits Group?

No. Our help costs nothing for you or your client. The plan premium is the same whether your client enrolls through us or directly with the insurance company.

How is Rise Up Benefits Group paid?

Like most independent agencies, we are paid by the insurance company your client chooses. You pay nothing, your client pays nothing extra, and there is no referral fee in either direction.

Which states can you help clients in?

Viola Lucero, CLTC is licensed in 29 states plus the District of Columbia: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin. Call (480) 300-5776 and we will confirm we can help where your client lives.

When should a client turning 65 talk to you?

Ideally a few months before their 65th birthday month. That leaves time to compare options and sign up so coverage starts on time, and to sort out any employer coverage first.

How quickly do you contact a client I refer?

We reach out personally to every referral, and your client can also call us or book a time directly. If timing is tight, such as a deadline at the end of an enrollment window, tell us when you refer them.

Do you help with both Medigap and Medicare Advantage?

Yes. We compare Medicare Supplement (Medigap), Medicare Advantage and Part D drug plans from the companies we are appointed with, and explain the trade-offs so your client can choose. We do not offer every plan available in every area.

What happens after my client enrolls?

We stay their agent. We help with claims and billing problems, review their plan and prescriptions during each Annual Enrollment Period, and when a Medigap company raises rates, we check whether they qualify for a lower-cost plan.

We do not offer every plan available in your area. Currently we represent 34 organizations which offer 64 products in your area. Please contact Medicare.gov or 1-800-MEDICARE to get information on all of your options. Rise Up Benefits Group is not connected with or endorsed by the United States government or the federal Medicare program. Medicare has neither endorsed nor reviewed this information.
